Fr. Christian was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. and grew up attending St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral with his family. As a child he felt drawn to the faith and served in the altar throughout high school. After graduating, he continued on to study at the University of British Columbia, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
It was during his time at UBC that he began to delve deeper into his faith, and became more involved in the Greek Community of Vancouver. He continued serving in the altar, and was tonsured a subdeacon by His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios in January of 2016. He attended regional Met Youth retreats in BC, as well as national youth retreats in Belleville and Vancouver. He also involved himself in ENOSIS and Diaspora Greek dance groups, and served as Vice-President of Met Youth Vancouver for several years. In 2016 he began work as a Market Analyst for the National Energy Board, which took him to Calgary, Alberta. In his years there, he continued to serve as a Subdeacon at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, danced with Dionysos Hellenic Cultural Society, and taught Greek dance with Niata. In 2018, Fr. Christian attended a pilgrimage to the Holy Land organized by his Spiritual Father, Fr. Constantinos Economos. It was on this pilgrimage that he met his future wife and Presvytera Nadia.
Later in 2018, he moved back to Vancouver and began working with BC Housing, where he worked with Vancouver’s poorest and most marginalized population on the Downtown Eastside, helping them to access subsidized housing programs and other vital resources. While this work was important and fulfilling, Fr. Christian felt an undeniable draw to serve the Church. In 2021, he left his job and began his theological studies at the Patriarchal Toronto Orthodox Theological Academy. After his first year of studies, he returned to Vancouver to marry Presvytera Nadia, who joined him in Toronto the following year after she finished her degree in Education. After his second year of studies, he was ordained to the diaconate on September 10th, 2022, and to the priesthood one week later, on September 16th. As of October 2022, he was assigned to serve the Chapel of St. John the Theologian, the spiritual home of the Theological Academy. On December 15th, 2023, Fr. Christian was appointed as the new Parish Priest of the Church of Saints Panteleimon, Anna, and Paraskevi, following a long line of incredible priests, each of whom has been a mentor to him in their own way: Fr. Peter Avgeropoulos as a professor of Patrology, Fr. Odisseys Drossos as a parish priest in Vancouver, Fr. Constantinos Economos as his Spiritual Father, and Fr. Nikodimos Kodogeorgakis as a friend and role model. Fr. Christian looks forward to continuing the great legacy of these priests, working closely with the faithful parishioners to grow this beautiful community, by the grace of God, and for His glory
